Marie Knowles is a passionate marketer who loves to craft brand-building programs for emerging consumer, digital and B2B brands. She brings 15+ years of communications and marketing experience to her approach in running MFK Communications, developing programs for such brands as the family-friendly music festival, Nextival; indie label DJ Boy Records; business intelligence software provider, Minerra; and Omnispace, the company that is reinventing mobile global communications. She is also guiding the PR and marketing efforts for Private Social Broadcast Network (PSBN), the next generation of private digital spaces for engaged communities.
Most recently, she led all strategic communications, digital marketing, and events planning as Director of Marketing & Programming for the blockchain trade group, the Chamber of Digital Commerce. In this role, she helped grow the Chamber from 12 member companies to more than 200 including Cisco, Discover Financial Services, Fidelity, IBM, Overstock.com, and Ripple.
Previously, Marie was Vice President of Communications at SoundExchange, a digital music rights organization representing 100,000+ recording artists, the major and indie record labels. There, she leveraged her B2B and B2C experience to help the organization develop a comprehensive communications strategy and navigate the digital landscape.
Additional prior experience includes leading brand building and marketing communications programs for some of the world’s leading companies. In-house at SiriusXM, she leveraged partnerships with companies like Honda, GM, Starbucks, Susan G. Komen, and Walmart to help elevate and grow the music and entertainment brand. She also worked in-house advising on PR and communications at space and satellite industry pioneer Iridium. On the agency side, she's represented and helped to elevate countless other brands leading their industries including Blackboard, Microsoft (government and education), Rosetta Stone, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, BET.com and more.
Her work has won her a Silver Stevie “Campaign of the Year” award, along with placements for her clients in the Inc. 500, Wall Street Journal, Tech Crunch, Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” and a spot on the ELLEN show.
Marie serves on the Colorado American Marketing Association (AMA) board. She began her career in the award-winning technology practice at Ogilvy, and as an intern in the U.S. Senate in Washington, DC. She holds her bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She is inspired by those far more creative than her, is a history buff, a DIYer, music lover, and first and foremost, a proud mother.
